YIN and CHIANG
There was once a man.
He was of all places:
Pamir, Bokhara, Samarkand
and the shores of the Aral Sea.
He came to a town and in
that town met a girl.
A woman was this girl.
She was maidenly, modest, and
mischievous, in her quiet, unquiet way.
Shy. Not shy.
She lived in the place of her birth
and thought of herself a girl.
Just a girl.
